North East Fleet News 2010
The Farr 30 Northeast Fleet has scheduled two back to back regattas for the 2010 racing circuit.
The first is three days of racing at the Cedar Point Yacht Club One Design Regatta in Westport, CT on June 4, 5 and 6. Cedar Point YC has a 5 ton lift on site for launching and hauling boats and offers free dockage for the event. It's three days of great racing in western Long Island Sound where June usually offers great sailing conditions and the CPYC Race committee puts on a very professional event.
The following weekend, there are three days of racing in the sailing capitol of the east; Newport, Rhode Island. The Farr 30s will have a class start at the 156th Annual New York Yacht Club Regatta on June 11, 12 and 13 which is presented by Rolex. This event features the legendary "around the island" race on Friday follow by two full days of W/L racing and post race festivities at Harbor Court. These events are scheduled so that teams traveling from long distances can maximize their time on the water. It's easy to do the one day water delivery from Westport, CT to Newport, RI or if you want to haul and relaunch, that's convenient as well. These back to back events offer 6 days of racing in two great venues on consecutive weekends with very few logistical hassles.
