One Design Class Start
Guidelines for One-Design Classes, Level and Narrow Band Rating
Below are the guidelines for one-design and level rated classes desiring a separate class start at Block Island Race Week XXIII (June 19 - 24, 2011).
Racing begins on Monday, June 20th and concludes Friday, June 24th. Competition will be a mix of round-the-buoys racing balanced by an approximate 26 mile Around the Island Race (weather permitting) The Race Committee will attempt to run two buoy races each day using three separate racing circles. Registration is Sunday, June 19th.
Various shoreside activities for racers, as well as, friends and family not racing will take place during the week. Trophies will be supplied by the Storm Trysail Club and awarded nightly in the Race Week tent. (1st, 2nd, 3rd place for each class). Entries are open to boats with a minimum length overall of 24 feet. One Design and Level-Rated classes are encouraged to attend Race Week. A separate start for one design classes are based on boat size and number of entries.
Championship and Class Start Registration and Deadline
Class championship and class start information will be announced on the website. For classes wishing to hold a class championship we will need to hear from you very soon. Individual class and one-design starts will be determined by the number of entries. One design classes are urged to make early registration in order to insure adequate participation for a separate class start.
